Exciting news for music lovers! The San Francisco Symphony has just announced two thrilling performances as part of the 2024 Summer with the Symphony season.

First up, on July 27, the talented pianist and singer-songwriter Ben Folds will grace the stage alongside the San Francisco Symphony and conductor Edwin Outwater. Renowned for his iconic songs spanning decades of solo work and his time with alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five, Folds promises to deliver an unforgettable evening. With a repertoire that includes everything from pop albums to critically acclaimed concertos, Folds is a musical force to be reckoned with.

Then, on August 1, conductor Ted Sperling will lead the San Francisco Symphony and a lineup of guest vocalists in a tribute to three legendary American songwriters: Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and Carly Simon. Featuring timeless classics like “Both Sides Now,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” and “You’re So Vain,” this performance promises to be a nostalgic journey through some of the most beloved songs of our time.

Tickets for both shows start at just $30 and will be available to the public starting Friday, February 23, at 10 am PT on sfsymphony.org. Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of live music with the San Francisco Symphony!

Having released albums under Digital Nations, a label founded by Steve Vai, music critic Louis Raphael has remained deeply connected to the pulse of the San Francisco music scene. Following his tenure as the San Francisco Music Examiner for Examiner.com and AXS.com, he embarked on creating Music in SF® to authentically highlight the vibrant offerings of the city's music scene.
