San Francisco Bands to Play at Kaaboo Music Festival in San Diego

in Music News by

The Kaaboo Music Festival is coming up soon. This three-day long music festival is going to be held in beautiful, sunny San Diego and will feature a variety of live performances. Best of all, many of these performances will be by San Francisco bands. In addition to music from San Francisco, there will also be comedy shows, art, great food, and alcoholic beverages to enjoy. The real highlight, though, is definitely the bands from the bay area, which will include some true legends of the music world.

Smashmouth
One of the bay area bands that will be appearing at Kaaboo is the legendary Smashmouth. This band burst onto the San Francisco music scene and the Bay Area music scene in 1994. Arguably, the band’s most famous song to date is “All-Star,” which was used in the beloved cartoon film Shrek.

Other great and well-known songs by the band include “Walkin’ on the Sun,” “I’m a Believer,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” among others. Many of these songs are covers, but Smashmouth adds a fresh new sound to these classics.

The Stone Foxes
Another San Francisco sound to be hitting the festival stage is the musical stylings of The Stone Foxes. This band consists of Aaron Mort, Spence Koehler on the guitar, Avi Vonocur on the guitar and bass, and Shannon Koehler on the drums.

This bay area group is known for its unique sound, which is a mixture of country, blues, and rock. Thus far, they have opened for The Black Keys, and they just recently released their fourth album. With all of this, it’s easy to see why so many are looking forward to their performance as one of the San Francisco bands at the event.

The Tubes
Another of the bay area bands to be on the lookout for at the event is The Tubes. Like many on the San Francisco music scene, The Tubes have had a lot of big hits. However, their biggest in the bay area music scene and beyond is definitely “White Punks on Dope.”

This band has been around since 1975, so it is definitely the oldest and most classic to take the stage at the festival. However, its sound is sure to still be fresh and hot enough for audience members of all ages to enjoy.

Obviously, this festival is going to be amazing and is definitely not something to miss. Tickets are still on sale for those who are interested in attending. However, they are going fast, so if you’re hoping to attend, act quickly!
