Bay Area legend Metallica has announced that it will play Oakland’s very intimate 2,800-capacity Fox Theater on Dec. 17.

The band is set to release its latest album “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct,” on Nov. 18.

Metallica “Fifth Member” fan club members will be able to win the option to buy the tickets on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m., while the general public will need to wait until 10 a.m. the following day.

Having released albums under Digital Nations, a label founded by Steve Vai, music critic Louis Raphael has remained deeply connected to the pulse of the San Francisco music scene. Following his tenure as the San Francisco Music Examiner for Examiner.com and AXS.com, he embarked on creating Music in SF® to authentically highlight the vibrant offerings of the city's music scene.
