SF MUSIC SCENE: Front Country Adds Several Tour Dates w/ Greensky Bluegrass

in Music News by

What started as a group of friends playing bluegrass in San Francisco’s Mission District has turned into a string of tour dates with Greensky Bluegrass in January. Local Bay Area band Front Country will be embarking on a mini tour next year on the heels of their sophomore album coming out in Spring 2017.

San Francisco’s Front Country has forged its own path in the bluegrass scene, coming from musical backgrounds of all genres and going on to win band competitions at festivals such as Telluride. They’re a progressive bluegrass quintet. Their singer has this great, round, sultry, more rock-leaning tone and vocal attack that you don’t typically hear in bluegrass. – NPR, All Songs Considered
