The second day of Outside Lands 2024 was a testament to the festival’s ability to blend diverse sounds into an unforgettable experience. From the moment the gates opened, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park became a playground for music lovers of all stripes.
The day kicked off with powerhouse K.Flay, whose haunting melodies and intimate lyrics drew an early crowd, setting a contemplative tone. As the sun climbed higher, the energy ramped up with an electrifying set from Romy, delivering punk rock ferocity that sent shockwaves through the crowd. Her performance was a highlight, turning the afternoon into a riotous celebration of raw power and unfiltered emotion.
Renee Rapp followed, bringing a fresh and dynamic presence to the stage. Her powerful vocals and commanding stage presence effortlessly won over the audience, blending pop sensibilities with a raw emotional LGBTQ+ message that made her performance one of the day’s standout moments.
In a sharp but welcome contrast, Grace Jones took the stage next, captivating the audience with her ethereal voice and infectious energy. Her blend of funk-pop and electronic beats was the perfect bridge between the day’slighter acts and the evening’s headliners.
By the time Sabrina Carpenter hit the main stage, the anticipation was palpable. The teenage witch did not disappoint, delivering a career-spanning set that felt like a masterclass in pop rock classics.
