The musical duo of Aly & AJ recently returned after a 10-year musical hiatus with a new track, “Take Me,” which proved to be great entry back into the music world. Today, the duo return with “I Know,” an ode to friendship that’s got hit written all over it.

About the song Aly and AJ said:

“This song was written a few days after we found out an acquaintance from our past had lost his battle with cancer. After seeing such an outcry of love & support from his close friends and family we decided to write something dedicated to friendship and the commitment we are all capable of giving when someone needs us most.”

“I Know” is the second song from their forthcoming EP, Ten Years, due for release Nov. 17, 2017, their first musical release in a decade. The duo first made their mark with their 2005 gold-certified debut record, Into The Rush, which helped them amass a global following and tour the world.

On the flipside, the pressures of that success forced them to conform to a more mainstream sound that just wasn’t them. AJ said, “That’s not who we are – we were uncertain that we’d even be heard among the masses – we just weren’t writing that kind of music. We felt like, what’s the point?”

With this new release, things are different. “We’re being authentic to ourselves,” said AJ.
